A play for very young audience members
Created by Gale Force Theatre
Two people tasked with delivering the daytime are thrown into chaos when asked to deliver the night. The show explores what it means to support a friend and dealing with fear all with authenticity, whimsy, and song. Developed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, A Tale on Two Wheels is a show delivered by tandem bike to parks around Nova Scotia for our very youngest audiences between the ages of 18 months and 4 year.
First created in 2020 A Tale on Two Wheels safely reached over 200 young audience members in Summer 2020. During the Summer 2021, Gale Force Theatre toured an updated version of the show around Nova Scotia with musician Kurtis Eugene. This project was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Long Alley Bicycles, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia and Community, Culture and Heritage. During the 2022 Theatre Nova Scotia Merritt A Tale on Two Wheels was nominated for Outstanding Original Composition, Outstanding Musical Direction and Outstanding Choreography. It won Outstanding Musical Direction.
I loved it so much! It made me feel really good.
